The International Seminar on “Energy Transition: Hybrid RE Systems, Microgrids and CCUS for a Resilient Power Future” was organised with the support of the Ministry of Power, CEA, NTPC Ltd., Grid-India, the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and GIZ on Friday, 30th January 2026 at Silver Oak Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
The seminar was inaugurated by distinguished dignitaries including Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power), Government of India; Mr. Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, CEA; Mr. Samir Chandra Saxena, CMD, Grid-India; Ms. N. Anandavalli, Director, CSIR–SERC; Dr. Ajay Mathur, Former Director General, International Solar Alliance; Mr. Gottfried von Gemmingen, Head of Economic Cooperation & Development, Embassy of Germany, New Delhi; Mr. Philipp Johannsen, Cluster Coordinator (Energy), GIZ; Mr. Kai Uwe Braekler, Acting Chairman, STEAG Energy Services (India); Dr. Jens Reich, Director, STEAG Power GmbH, Germany; Mr. U.K. Bhattacharya, Managing Director, STEAG Energy Services (India); and Dr. J.T. Verghese, Former Chairman, STEAG Energy Services (India).
The Inaugural Address was delivered by Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power), Government of India. A Keynote address on CCUS was delivered by Mr. Rajnath Ram, Adviser (Energy), NITI Aayog.
Eminent speakers from CEA, Grid-India, NTPC, CSIR, Tata Power, and STEAG presented papers during the technical sessions of the seminar.
The seminar witnessed participation of over 180 delegates, including representatives from CEA, NTPC, NHPC, Grid-India, ISA, GIZ, EIL, policymakers, hybrid renewable energy developers, solar PV companies, generating companies, state utilities, municipal corporations, manufacturers, researchers, consultants, engineers, and experts from transmission and distribution companies.
The deliberations during the seminar are expected to support stakeholders in charting the way forward in India’s energy transition through Hybrid RE systems, microgrids, and CCUS. The proceedings of the seminar, along with key recommendations, will be compiled and shared in the form of a publication.
