International Seminar on “AI Applications in the Power Sector” was organized with the support of CEA, NTPC, Grid-India, International Solar Alliance (ISA), GIZ and DIgSILENT on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Silver Oak Hall, India Habitat Center, Lodi Road, New Delhi.

The seminar was inaugurated by the distinguished dignitaries: Mr. Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, CEA; Mr. K. R. Jyothilal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Govt. of Kerala; Mr. S. R. Narasimhan, CMD, Grid-India; Mr. K. S. Sundaram, Director (Projects) NTPC; Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General, International Solar Alliance; Mr. Uwe Gehlen, Head of German Development Cooperation and Minister, German Embassy; Mr. Philipp Johannsen, Cluster Coordinator Energy, GIZ; Dr. Ralf Schiele, Board Member, STEAG GmbH; Mr. Ulrich Sigel, CEO Iqony Solutions GmbH; Dr. Jens Reich, Director (ET), Iqony Solutions GmbH, and Dr. J. T. Verghese, Executive Chairman, STEAG Energy Services India.

The inaugural address was made by Mr. Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, CEA.

The Secretary, Ministry of Power, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal made a special address in the seminar.

Eminent speakers from CEA, Grid-India, SRLDC, DIgSILENT, L&T-MHI Power Boilers, IIT Delhi, World Wind Energy Association, Arcturus Business Solutions, Iqony Solutions GmbH, Germany and STEAG Energy Services, India participated in the technical sessions of the seminar.

Over 275 delegates including those from CEA, NTPC, Grid-India, ISA, GIZ, policymakers, independent power producers, IT companies, software developers, digital solution providers, coal, oil, gas & RE based power generating companies, state utilities, manufacturers, grid operators, researchers, consultants, engineers and experts from transmission and distribution companies participated in the seminar.

The deliberations of the seminar will surely help stakeholders in the exciting journey of power sector transformation with AI applications.
